#1 - Able Women, ACHIEVE!

View all BLOGS!
Afraid vs ABLE --> adapt
A is for today's thoughts, ACHIEVE!

All the stories I tell are in bit and pieces over the vast net in different phases of editing on my computer.

  ABLE WOMEN, or Damsels in Distress

For the A2Z Blog Challenge, each day I collected the various versions of a story and combined the various bits and pieces into the best-written with a driving female narrative. Then framed the story, TheStoryRealm, with the corresponding letter.

I collected folktales about mighty maidens and wise women who were damsels in distress and overcame tyranny and suppression by facing social dominance, male voice. As a child and young adult, I believed males had it all. Then as yesterday, treated as a second-class person as include in these words:

--> female, second to a male;
--> lady, second to a lad;
--> women, second to the men;
--> she or her, second to he;
---> heroine, second to the hero!

Unfortunately, 'he' still leads and solves the problems and dilemmas of our world. As a girl and teenage youth pushed from the success frame because of my sex, I need a voice. So now I edit with a mature feminine voice about my concession to oppression caused by a societal norm of 'him”, as my antagonist in my loved folktales.

For fun today a story is from Aesop Fables,
The Oak and the Reeds

A magnificent Oak stood proudly by a quiet pool and, at its feet grew a cluster modest and slender reeds. Whenever a high wind blew, the tree stood firm as a mountain reaching its limbs high into the sky. The reeds could only bend and bow.
"No wind can ever make me bow my head," said the proud Oak.
"Wait and see,'" whispered the reeds as they swayed with the wind, "Wait and see."
Soon came a furious storm. The reeds were shaken and tossed in the gust this way and that way. The mighty Oak stood tall and straight, defying the storm. The wind came faster and more ferocious. At last, the Oaks roots tore from the ground; the tree fell with a crash.
After the storm passed in the morning light, the reeds stood tall. "You see!" They said softly to the falling Oak. "We bowed to the wind, and we survive. You resisted and perished."

 I face my nemesis, and I bow, bend to what once I believed.

AtoZ Challenge, CAMPNaNoWri DARE!

During the month of April 2020, with motivation from CAMPNaNoWri to compile and edit a story each day, THAT IS 27 STORIES, Humble Heros and Worthy Women, NOW CALLED DAMSELS IN DISTRESS.

On this blog, TheStoryRealm, to post daily the character's motivation and 'why I like or dislike the tale' for the AtoZ Blog Challenge.

When each story is ready for my satisfaction with the frame,  I will share as a PDF from google drive, view only.

This challenge is a dreadful venture or DARE for finishing my book series for Timeless Tales Retold. UPDATED!

Because of the stories I tell are in bit and pieces over the vast net in different phases of writing and editing, my challenge is to collect the various versions of one story and each day during April 2020. Then to combine the various bits and pieces into my best-writing with the driving emotion for the character for her survival; and if why I like this tale.

My forever goal is to download back to Scrivener on my computer for a PDF for Amazon.com’s print-on-demand and kindle. An epub format to published on Smashword.com and with @s, ISBBs, LCCNs, and maybe audio with a video trailer.

Power to Bobbie, go girl go!

Distinguish - MIN, the River Dragon, #AtoZchallenge

DISTINGUISH
READ ON WATTPAD

Many centuries from ancient time, the shard of pearl laid buried in the ground in the mountains. In a village near by lived a poor boy by the name of Min. By cutting grasses in the valley, he brought rice and tea for his blind mother. This year was exceedingly hot and extremely dry; the grasses died. Min had to travel up the West Mountains to find grass and where he recovers a magic pearl shards from the Pearl of Jade Dragon and Golden Phoenix.

For centuries River Kingdoms were in power and by use of the DRAGONS and fought for the control over China. Such is the story of Dragon Min, a boy who became a river dragon and helped the villagers. While becoming a dragon and looking back at his mother, Min made mud banks around the river to hold shrimps, crabs, eel and fish, and the river irrigated the crops and vegetables. Thus, Dragon Min, like many other, is honored and respected for bringing change, good fortune, and wealth to the river, the villagers, and the farmers.

SUCCESS Reflection --> atozchallenge list #598

List #598

I did write 26 stories daily and posted to wattpad.com so others could read--> followed my theme, emotions that fit the story with one negative, had a title design for each story and the LETTER A to Z from the Blogging Challenge. I did survive and did succeed. And my pledge is to weekly add another tale --> I did fail telling the stories on soundcloud.com because this not the venue for storytelling. So my next GREAT PROJECT will be how-to put verbal stories on itunes, plus interviews with artists, writers, and storytellers, telling their back-story of their venues for their audiences --> viewers, readers, and listeners.

Now, more stories to come!
And beyond that on the last day, April 30th, having finish early in the morning the atoz challenge; I went to the Bay Area Storytelling Festival, their last of 30. Once, I volunteer and did publicity, 2008, 2009, and 2010 the 25th festival plus took photos. One marvelous, fantastic, well-organized story festival done by volunteers for 30 years sharing professional performers from across the country and the Bay Area. A family of friends, which I hope regroups into another fantastic venue. Best of all, I bought 26 raffle tickets for my 26 stories written and posted for readers to enjoy. And beyond that, and beyond, guess what?  --> I WON THE hand-stitched QUILT, the LAST ONE, 30 YEARS of festivals and 30 years of quilts! APRIL 30 was a good day!

THEME for AtoZ BLOGGING Challenge

My theme for the  AtoZ Blog Challenge is emotional empowerment. The emotions of a character's personality used to overcome a struggle, suffering, fear, or obstacle. Qualities that enable a character to achieve goals, or not achieve a goal. Some emotions will help while others will not. Also there are negative emotions that drive the character through their adventurous drama.

Blogging and Telling Challenge

Each day for a month for the AtoZ blogging challenge I will post a folktale or faerytale, or one of my stories for 27 days this April 2016 the  a folktale for the AtoZ Blogging Challenge will be posted here for your reading enjoyment. The tales will follow an emotional theme, A = Able, B = Bold, C = Clever. A good story brings out an emotional premise. A story is a look at our self. We connect to a story because of pity, identification, sentimentalism, suffering, struggle, or recovery. A story is believed because of the enhancements, fabrication, embroidery and re-imaging used by the storyteller.

The written stories can be found on my wattpad.com site. I'm working to have these stories published as in a series, Bold Stories Told: Able Women, Monsters, Gardens, Trees, Vishua, Dragons, Music, the Zodiac, etc. All the stories I know plus a few personal ones.
